Where we checked
What you should know before signing up from abroad
Skillshare is built as a global platform: members span 150+ countries and most new sign-ups now come from outside the US. There's no geographic content lock — the full library of 40,000+ classes streams the same from Bangkok, Manila or Buenos Aires as from New York, with no VPN. Signing up needs only an email.
On payment, Skillshare accepts all major cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) plus PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and bills in local currency in many regions. Both US cards used from abroad and genuine international cards work in the large majority of cases.
The honest drawback: because it's a recurring (often USD) subscription, a minority of cards from certain countries get declined even when the bank says international payments are on. PayPal or a global card (Wise, Revolut) is the reliable workaround, and prepaid cards aren't accepted.
Quick answers
Can I watch Skillshare from Thailand or the Philippines without a VPN?
Yes. There's no geo-block — the full class library streams in-country, so you don't need a VPN.
Will my US credit card or PayPal work while I live abroad?
Yes. US cards and PayPal are accepted from anywhere; you don't need a US billing address to keep your subscription.
Can I keep watching when my internet is bad?
Yes. Premium members can download classes in the iOS/Android app and watch fully offline.
