Where we checked
What you should know before signing up from abroad
Resume.io is a fully web-based resume builder, so there is nothing region-specific to break when you log in from Thailand, the Philippines or anywhere else. We opened the editor, built a resume and exported a PDF from several of the listed countries with no VPN and no geo-block. Account creation only needs an email — no US address or phone number is requested at any point.
The one real drawback is billing, not access. The cheap 7-day trial silently rolls into a $29.95 charge every four weeks if you forget to cancel, and this is by far the most common complaint about the service. Set a reminder the moment you sign up. Refunds for surprise renewals are possible but not guaranteed.
Payments are processed through Stripe and Adyen, which accept both US and non-US cards in the 25 countries Resume.io supports. If a local card is declined, it is usually your bank blocking an international charge rather than Resume.io blocking you — enabling international transactions or using a US card resolves it. Some countries also get a one-time payment option instead of the subscription.
Quick answers
Does Resume.io work abroad without a VPN?
Yes. It is a normal website with no country geo-block, so it loads and works from all nine countries we checked without a VPN.
Can I pay if I only have a local, non-US card?
Usually yes. Stripe and Adyen accept local cards in 25 supported countries. If one is declined, enable international transactions or use a US card.
How do I avoid the surprise subscription charge?
Cancel inside your account before the 7-day trial ends. After that it auto-renews at $29.95 every four weeks until you cancel.
