Where we checked
What you should know before signing up from abroad
LegalZoom is a US legal-services platform for forming LLCs, corporations and handling business and estate filings. From overseas it behaves like any normal website: no geo-block, no VPN, and you can register with your real address in Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam or any of the countries we checked. It even runs country-specific landing pages aimed squarely at non-US founders, so serving expats and foreign owners is part of the business, not an edge case.
The honest catch is not access, it's the paperwork the US government requires. If you have no SSN or ITIN, you cannot apply for your LLC's EIN online — that step has to go to the IRS by fax or phone, which LegalZoom can assist with but cannot fully shortcut. Some add-on filings also assume a US tax ID. None of this is LegalZoom blocking you; it's the underlying US process, and you should budget a few extra days for it.
Payment is smooth from abroad: US-issued cards work, and foreign-issued cards are accepted too, billed in US dollars. A US registered-agent address is included with formation packages, so you don't need a US presence of your own. Just be clear-eyed that LegalZoom is a convenience layer over US bureaucracy — great for the filing, but the EIN and banking steps still demand patience when you're outside the country.
Quick answers
Can I use LegalZoom from outside the US?
Yes. The site is fully accessible from all nine countries we checked with no VPN, and you can register using your foreign address.
Will my non-US card work?
Yes. Both US and foreign-issued cards are accepted, charged in US dollars. We saw no requirement for a US billing address.
Can a non-resident actually form a US LLC here?
Yes, and LegalZoom has pages built for it. The one slow step is the EIN, which non-residents must file by IRS fax or phone, not online.
