What we verified
| Ordering from abroad | Site loads everywhere, but checkout only takes US or Canada addresses. |
| Paying with a US card | US cards and PayPal work with a US billing address. |
| Paying with a non-US card | Foreign cards often fail US address checks; PayPal is the workaround. |
| Shipping to your country | Direct shipping covers US and Canada only; no Asia or Latin America. |
| Import duties & returns | Forwarder reships it; you pay duties and return shipping yourself. |
| The catch | US units use Wi-Fi channels 1-11; warranty valid only in US. |
Where we checked
What you should know before buying from abroad
iRobot's US online store works the same way it always has: you can browse every Roomba and Braava model from anywhere, but checkout only accepts shipping addresses in the United States and Canada. There is no direct delivery option to Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Panama, Argentina or South Africa, so an expat cannot simply have one mailed home from the US site.
The honest drawback is what it takes to actually receive one. You buy to a freight forwarder's US warehouse (MyUS, Big Apple Buddy and similar) and have them reship it abroad, which means import duties, forwarding fees and self-managed returns on top of the sticker price. Worse, a Roomba bought in North America is tuned for Wi-Fi channels 1-11, while many countries broadcast on 1-13, so the app setup can fail on a local router; the warranty is also only valid in the country of purchase.
If your country has a local iRobot distributor (Thailand has an official store, and Roomba sells on Lazada in the Philippines), buying locally is usually the smarter call: correct Wi-Fi region, local warranty, no duties surprise. Use the US store mainly when you want a model or deal not sold in your region and you are comfortable forwarding it.
Quick answers
Does the iRobot US store ship to Thailand or the Philippines?
No. The US store ships only to US and Canada addresses. Reaching those countries requires a freight forwarder, which adds duties and fees.
Will a US-bought Roomba's app work on my home Wi-Fi abroad?
Sometimes. US units only use Wi-Fi channels 1-11; if your router runs on 12 or 13, app setup can fail. Set the router to channel 1-11 to fix it.
Is the warranty good if I buy from the US and ship it over?
iRobot's warranty is valid only in the country of purchase, so a US-bought unit has no local warranty support where you live abroad.
