What you should know before buying from abroad
iHerb is built for international buyers. It ships to over 185 countries, including Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Panama, Argentina and South Africa. The site detects your location, shows prices in local currency, and lists the carriers available to you. You do not need a US address or US phone number to order, and both US and locally issued cards work, alongside PayPal in most regions.
The honest drawback is customs. Every order ships across a border, so duties, VAT and handling fees can apply. In many countries iHerb now uses DDP (Delivered Duties Paid), collecting taxes at checkout so the package clears customs without surprise fees on delivery — but where DDP is not offered, the carrier may bill you separately. Some countries also cap how many supplements you can import per order, and a few items may be restricted or require permits.
Returns are the other weak spot from abroad. iHerb's return process is straightforward inside the US but limited internationally, so a damaged or wrong item is usually resolved with a refund or store credit rather than a return shipment. For most expats the math still works: prices are low, duties are visible before you pay, and delivery to these countries is reliable.
