What you should know before buying from abroad
The Fitbit device and app themselves travel well. Once you have a tracker, the Fitbit app syncs steps, sleep and heart rate from any country through your Google account, with no geo-block and no VPN required. Time zone and location update automatically from your phone, so daily tracking just works in Bangkok, Manila or Cape Town.
The real catch is buying the hardware. Fitbit's official store (now run through the Google Store) only ships to US addresses and requires a US billing and shipping address at checkout — it will not deliver to Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Panama, Argentina or South Africa. To get one abroad you must use a package forwarder (MyUS, Big Apple Buddy and similar) or buy from an authorized local retailer, which adds cost and time.
Two smaller limits: Google Health Premium coaching is only offered in a fixed list of countries, so premium features may be unavailable depending on your account region. And warranty or repair service is tied to the country of purchase, so a US-bought unit can be awkward to service while you live overseas.
