What you should know before buying from abroad
We placed test orders on the US Birkenstock site from outside the country. Browsing, sizing and adding to cart all work, and US-issued cards check out without trouble. The wall comes at the address step: the US store only delivers to addresses in the continental US, Alaska and Hawaii. There is no international option at checkout, by design.
The honest drawback: you cannot have Birkenstock US ship straight to Thailand, the Philippines or any country on our list. Birkenstock deliberately routes each region to its own local site and distribution, citing sustainability. To buy from the US store you must ship to a US package forwarder (MyUS, Stackry, Shipito) and pay their fee plus your country's import duties. Returns are also US-only, so a refund means shipping the box back stateside first.
If you only want the product, several of these countries have their own Birkenstock presence: official local stores in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and South Africa, plus a Philippines site that ships to Philippine addresses. Those use local pricing and payment instead of the US flow. Use the US store only if you specifically want US styles or pricing and are comfortable with a forwarder.
